Hello knitter friends!
Following up with the series “Hats for all”, today’s post is a free Basic Newborn Knitted Hat Pattern

FREE Basic Newborn Knitted Hat Pattern and video tutorial. Beginner friendly newborn hat pattern. Includes written pattern and video tutorial.
*Disclaimer

Besides this series of knitting hats in all sizes, I am also working on crocheted hats for all standard sizes. To find them, check the crochet section of the blog. Soon your little bundle of joy will be all ready for you first professional photographer Austin shoot! Such a special memory!

I will be using double pointed needles in all these projects, but you could also use circular knitting needles (with the magic loop method), if you prefer.

If you only have straight knitting needles, you can check a free pattern I made for a baby hat that is designed for straight needles. Find it here: Knit Baby hat for beginners – Free Pattern

If you want to receive a notification when the patterns for other sizes are published you can subscribe to our newsletter. It’s free to join and you can do it from the sign up form located to the right.

  • Fast off yarn. With a yarn needle, go thru each stitch and pull to close gap. Weave in ends from crown of hat and from the beginning.
  • Block the hat if you feel is necessary. (Acrylic yarn usually doesn’t need blocking, while most wool and wool blends are better if blocked)
