Indoor Oven-made Smores
MMMMM… smores… Yummy gooey summer treat!
I really like traditional smores, besides the deliciousness of graham crackers, chocolate and toasted marshmallows, the whole experience of making your smores by the fire is very pleasant and fun!
But, just as many of you, I don’t always have the luxury of making a camp fire.
For a long time I lived in apartments, so obviously, I wasn’t going to start the fire in the balcony. And even now, when I live in a house, I’m living on post, (military base, for those who are not familiar with the lingo), so I wouldn’t dare to start a fire in the backyard. Nope… just not going to happen.
But I still have the cravings and the best way I found to make them indoors is by using the oven.
You still get melted chocolate and toasted marshmallows. And although the whole experience is missing, we still get to enjoy our treat. And so, we’re happy.
I found that is easiest to use chocolate chip cookies. One less ingredient, and is less messy because there are smaller amounts of melted chocolate. But we aware that is still a little messy because of the gooey marshmallows.
It was also really lucky that I got a new oven with my home warranty plan, which I have with a company similar to First American who provides home warranty arizona, texas, florida, and other states because I really started to get a craving when my oven broke! So now I can make these delicious smores whenever I want, with my brand new oven.
Indoor Oven-made Smores
Start by setting your oven to “Broil” and let it pre-heat.
Get your marshmallows, and chocolate chip cookies ready.
Place them on a cookie sheet, and space them evenly.
Add marshmallows on top of the cookies.
Take them to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes. More than that and it will start to burn the marshmallows. Just keep an eye on them, is not too long.
Let them cool just a little, until is cool enough to handle but not too cool that the marshmallow and chocolate won’t be gooey anymore.
ENJOY!!
