This is lesson number 3, and I will show you how to do the half double crochet stitch.

The half double crochet stitch in written patterns:
In written patterns, the half double crochet stitch is often represented as an abbreviation with the first letters of the stitch name, half double crochet = hdc
If it were to be represented any differently, the notes on the patterns will inform you of it. (watch the video below for more details).
The half double crochet stitch in diagram patterns or crochet charts:
In diagrams or crochet charts, the half crochet stitch is often represented with a symbol that resembles a “T” (watch the video below for more details).
To create the half double crochet stitch: Yarn over the hook, insert the hook in the center of the chain stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through 3 loops on hook. Repeat across to end of the chain. To begin the second row, turn your work. Chain two for the turning chain.

The lesson is mainly the video. But if you want to print the words part of this article, you could copy them on a word document, and that way avoid printing any advertising. As to not waste paper and ink on them.
