This free knitting pattern was long due! I’ve been wanting to write and share a knit fingerless gloves pattern for a while now. Since I shared it’s crochet counterpart: Basic Crochet Fingerless Gloves Free Pattern I’m always trying to balance out between my knitting and crochet patterns, specially the basic series. But just like most artist I am a free spirit that jumps from project to project guided by inspiration rather than planing. Don’t get me wrong, I do plan my blog posts, future patterns and upcoming videos, and I do my best to follow my own self imposed schedule, but oh is so hard. I guess later is better than never, so although it took some time, I’m glad to finally have a finished knit fingerless gloves pattern, and is FREE!! My very first knit fingerless gloves pattern where designed for straight needles, because at the time I didn’t own any circular needles, and just the thought of knitting in rounds terrified me as I was just a newbie knitter. If you are interested in some simple fingerless gloves to knit with straight needles you can find the free pattern here:

Short Fingerless Gloves Free knitting pattern
But this pattern is made to be knitted in the round, and with double pointed needles or if you are familiar with the magic loop method, you may also knit them that way. Confession time: Just like years ago I was terrified of any round knitting, I am still a bit intimidated by the magic loop method. I might not be a newbie knitter anymore, but I still have so much to learn.
Why I love fingerless gloves
I just love fingerless gloves, they are so practical and they look so nice too. As an artist and writer, fingerless gloves are so useful, because they keep my hands warm, but allow my fingers to retain their dexterity by not being covered by fabric. With them I can easily type, draw, and crochet or knit without having any trouble. As a knitter yourself, I am sure these simple fingerless gloves will come very handy. (Pun intented :P) And for your friends and family that aren’t knitters, well… they will come handy too. We all use our smartphones and tablets and need free fingers in order to operate those devices without trouble. Even for the gamers out there, is way easier to press buttons and move controllers with free fingers.
