Brioche Wiz Cowl Free Knitting Pattern

A simple take, using the brioche stitch: Brioche Wiz Cowl Free Knitting Pattern

This pattern was designed to be paired with the Mandala Yarn by Lionbrand.
The color changes in the yarn itself make this project already interesting without adding color changes.
But the way you make this cowl, also makes it budget friendly because you only need one cake of yarn. In fact it doesn’t even use the whole cake. So, unless you decide to just keep knitting and make it bigger for the sake of using the whole cake, you will have some left over yarn to use in other projects. Maybe another cowl.

The colors blend together in an intricate fabric that is also reversible.

This pattern is great for anyone wanting to experiment with the brioche technique, but that doesn’t want to make anything complicated or with any sizing.

If you pay close attention to the various Mandala cakes in the same colorway. They all have the same color, BUT they are arrange differently.

So each cowl, will have a different look and combination of colors. Those using the same colorway, will be extremely similar, but they won’t be exactly the same.

But if the mandala yarn is not your favorite, or maybe you just don’t have it at the moment, and would like to use something in your stash you can totally substitute it.

A great option would be to use another gradient yarn. A self-stripping or gradient yarn might also work beautifully with this pattern.
But also, just opting for 2 yarns in different colors will also create a beautiful cowl.

Also, because is a cowl, it will fit so many people, regardless of their size and ages.

Here you can see my 4 years old daughter, modeling an adult size. This cowl fits me perfectly, and so does her. We can use it as an infinity scarf, or wrap it around twice to make it more snug and cozy.
